Original Watercolors
July 1st - July 10th

"In 1990, I returned to watercolors after many years of doing oils and pastels. Since then, I have never gone back to oil, as I love the fluidity of the watercolor medium. I consider myself to be a realist/impressionist painter.
Karl Drerup, an acclaimed enamellist and painter, was my sole art teacher and mentor during my college years at Plymouth State University in NH. After graduation, because of his encouragement, I was accepted into the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. The remainder of my art growth over the years has been through workshops.
More and more, I find myself including architectural elements in my paintings. I also like to do still-life and doors and windows.
After the pleasure of doing the work, I enjoy showing my work, and occasionally teaching a watercolor or drawing workshop. I have been accepted into several juried shows, and most recently (April 2013) took second place in the watercolor division in an open show in Waterville, Maine. I sell my original paintings, seldom making prints of my work. A favorite description of my work is "playful yet precise".
