Denny Keschl

Dennis Keschl is the State Representative for House District 83, which includes Belgrade, Fayette, Manchester, Mount Vernon and Vienna and serves on the Joint Standing Committee on Appropriations and Financial Affairs. He lives in Belgrade with his spouse of 42 years, Connie. He has an undergraduate degree in Math and Physics from Mansfield University, PA and a Master’s of Science Degree in Environmental Science from Rutgers University, NJ. Dennis was the Town Manager for Belgrade from August 2006 to December 2010.

He has served as the Administrative Director and Director of Technical Analysis Division for the Maine Public Utilities Commission. His environmental background includes working in the Maine Department of Environmental Protection as the Director of the Bureau of Air Quality Control and as the Director of the Division of Operations and Maintenance in the Bureau of Water Quality. He also was the President of the New England Water Environment Association (NEWEA) in 1988 and the Chair of the New England Commission for Coordinated Air Use Management (NESCAUM) in 1994. Dennis is also a veteran with 31 years of service in the U.S. Army and the Maine Air National Guard. He began his military service in the United States Army Security Agency from 1969 to 1973. He then served in the Maine National Guard from 1979 to 2007.

His career included work in Military Intelligence, Logistics and Planning, and serving as an Aircraft Maintenance Squadron Commander. He is a Vietnam War era veteran, and served during Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Operation Northern Watch, and other contingency operations. He retired as a Lt. Col. in the Air Force in 2007. Dennis is a member of the Belgrade Lakes Association, the Belgrade Public Library, Ducks Unlimited, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Reserve Officers Association, the National Rifle Association, the Sportsmen Alliance of Maine, and the National Guard Association of Maine.
