Ted Alfond
Ted has been spending time on Great Pond since 1948. A graduate of Kents Hill School and Rollins College, Ted and his wife, Barbara, have lived in an antique home near Boston since 1975, but have never missed a summer in Belgrade.
Ted retired in 2000 as vice-president of Dexter Shoes, but remains active on the boards of Historic New England, Kents Hill , Rollins, the Harold Alfond Foundation, and the Colby College Museum of Art. His greatest pleasure, however, is passing on his affection for Great Pond to his and Barbara's nine grandchildren, and sharing with them a sense of responsibility for its well-being.
